Telecommunication Project Teams - Available
The ITRE has telecommunications project teams which are used to working
together. They were formed to assist American companies in launching services in Europe.
A team is usually available for a new assignment at reasonably short notice.
A European team is comprised of strong telecommunications
project managers, with the abilities to do the analysis, documentation, project plans,
rate analysis, tax strategies, and systems integration oversight. These people are
leaders, do-ers, and that is why they come together to assist in a variety of
telecommunications endeavors, with the focus on launching services quickly, replacing
networks quickly, negotiating service level agreements quickly, and deploying systems
quickly.
They are able to accomplish the client's goal, primarily for two reasons:
They are multilingual, fluent in many languages, and members have the
ability to deal with the technical languages of the foreign countries in which operations
must be established.
They know who to speak to. This team has developed a system for interfacing with the
vendors: the carriers, the ISPs, the mobile operators, the banks and clearinghouses, the
legal counsel, the regulators, a system that allows them to start quickly and finish
quickly a successful telecommunications service launch in a new country.
This team is peopled with experience in the following services, end-to-end, from
application/customer contract development, through provisioning, billing, payment posting
systems and implementing collections systems, and related systems designed to squeeze more
margin for the client. Now, about those services for which the team brings deep, rich,
experience:
Long distance and related land line services
Mobile and mobile service packages
Commercial services, (800 and dedicated services) facility ordering and specialized
billing
Internet Services
Each member of the team has years of experience in telecommunications. And from that
pool of resources, there is a wide range of specific tasks that have been worked, in some
cases, many times for many different companies ñ in America, Europe, and the Far East.
De-regulation activities (experience in the U.S. with the break-up of the Bell companies),
network deployments and transitions
large transaction based systems transitions
implementing fraud control systems
developing and deploying commission systems
market research based formulation of pricing structures
system requirements definition
manage unit interface testing and end-to-end testing with multiple vendors, multiple
countries, multiple client departments
recent interface with the banking clearinghouses, lawyers,
and regulators, as well as invoice print houses and shipping/distribution companies in
Europe.
Marketing strategy skills are rated highly among the many competencies of the
ITRE Team . . .
Project members have successfully assisted clients in re-positioning themselves in the
market by improving customer services, bill treatment, collection activities, distribution
mechanisms and introducing innovative price packaging.
ITRE team members support senior management in their objectives to evaluate new business
opportunities (i.e. Internet and digital TV-based services) and assist with the first
phase of implementation.
About the Team . . .
This team is meant for start-ups, or for companies implementing improvement. In it's current form, it is designed to help clarify the
mission, collect the information and report back to define the mission, and ultimately,
working side-by-side with key players within the company to mission deployment. Together,
the individuals on the ITRE team have made such a profound impact on the client
assignments already handled, they are certain their strengths and abilities will meet your
needs.
Take All or Some of What we Offer
Projects are cyclical. A start-up generally requires someone on the ground full-time in
the country for about six months. As the systems go into production and the engine runs
itself, the assistance needed from the consultant reduces to part-time and eventually, to
a small percentage of their week. This means two things:
At ITRE, you pay for the hours worked - and only the hours worked. At the point in time
where you may call upon the local country interface to attend a meeting, and do 10 hours
of work in a month, then you only pay for the 10 hours - that month. The fact is that you
gain on-going support in that region - at your fingertips - without paying expensive
retainers to lawyers or large consulting firms.
The second factor, of course, is that while we are phasing out a large project, we can
rarely jump into a new project. Smaller projects, pieces of analysis, homework, so to
speak, can be used as fill-in. Most projects donít require someone to devote 40 hours a
week as the plan is being formulated. But when the plan is implemented, those people need
to be there.
Don't stop reading, however, if you are beyond the started up phase. We're quite good at
complimenting existing teams. From time-to-time, our consultants are required on only a
limited basis. Rather than coming in, full strength, as a consulting and project
management team, we're experienced at recognizing where our efforts are best used, whether
the project is six months along or still a concept. Every client has some good, strong,
resources in specific areas, that may make someone on our team unnecessary - we recognize
that up front and mold to the existing program. We have to or we wouldn't be effective.
So, we don't do just start-ups, but can provide the needed boost to a flailing project.
We, at ITRE, are in favor of the approach that includes the same people from the beginning,
through implementation, and post-implementation follow-up. We also promote operating in an
environment fully conscious of the slim margins made on calls and transactions in an
increasingly competitive business. We know these things and we share that knowledge. We
make our resources and our knowledge available in a way that suits the project. We
understand the life cycle of projects. This is our business.
