ITRE Councils
Each member company is
represented by two of its most senior executives involved with reselling or supply to
resellers. The member company can register to attend the meetings of as many of the
various councils as they wish.
The following councils have been formed to enable the members to work actively together
within their specific field of expertise or to gain knowledge of areas of
telecommunications with which they are not yet so familiar.
International Resale
This council is made up of those offering their products and services Internationally and who are particularly involved with matters involving International Resale.
Associates
For the all important associates of the industry without whose services the sales of telecoms would ultimately be more difficult.
Computer Telephony Integration
This council represents those members involved in the field of IT technology applied to telephony applications.
Calling Card
This council promotes the interests of the members involved in this field.
National Councils
eg UK Council, Kenya Council, Canada Council etc
Each National Council provides a forum for members to get together and promote the interests of the members involved in their relevant country
Carrier Services
This council is made up of Carriers and concentrates especially on matters particular to those members.
Service Providers
This council provides an opportunity for Service providers to get 6together and discuss their mutual requirements
Call-back
This council is made up of call-back (call through) providers irrespective of whether or not the call-back operator itself is actually in Europe and addresses the issues of particular interest to this group.
Ethics
This council is responsible for monitoring claims made by members in publications or the media which could mislead and for empowering the code of ethics by which members have agreed to be governed. Non-members are also monitored and false claims brought to the attention of the relevant advertising advertising association. Disputes between members are arbitrated and lobbying on behalf of the Institute carried out.
Domestic Resale
This council will be made up of representatives involved solely in the resale of telecommunications within the country of their domiciliation and for bringing their particular matters of concern and interests to the Board for consideration.
Wireless
This council will address the particular issues of interest to those engaged in the resale or sale of cellular telephony services..
Audiotext
This council will promote the interests of those members involved in this branch of the industry.
Agents
This council will be for individuals currently acting on behalf of principals, who however, aspire to provide switchless resale and offer services such as billing as a future time.
Criminal Intelligence
This council allows members to work together to combat fraud, share information and to keep up to date on Data Protection laws which affect their ability to receive qualified information in their decision as to whether to take on a customer or not as well as tracing absconders.
Exhibition and Media Purchasing
Many ITRE members spend large proportions of their budgets on exhibition and media purchasing. This council allows the members to exhibit more often and place more advertisements within their budget by being part of the ITRE Pavilion at International shows, which by means of bulk purchasing, is able to pass on its savings to the members.
Telecommunications User Group
Membership of this council is high purchasers, dealers and agents of domestic and international traffic.
